NatWest spent 2025 on a mission to help young people grow their money confidence. And yes, that includes those trying to do the near-impossible... first time buyers. It takes the average Londoner 14 years to save for a deposit, and that’s where NatWest’s new Joint Borrower, Sole Proprietor mortgage came in.  (Catchy, I know.) We renamed the product something a little more customer friendly, and introduced the nation to The Family-Backed Mortgage. We launched it with a 30s spot that literally brought to life the feeling when you reach that pretty monumental goal of homeownership, with the backing of your family and NatWest. 

From feeling locked out of the market, to getting your own keys, it’s a simple story packed full of heart, humour and attitude.
